Champagne Bollinger

The history of Bollinger begins in 1829 with Athanase de Villermont, when he inherits a vast wineyard near the Aÿ. Bollinger has 170 hectares of vines consisting of 85% Grands and Premiers Crus mainly distributed in Aÿ, Avenay, Tauxières, Louvois and Verzenay for Pinot Noir, Cuis for Chardonnay and Champvoisy for Meunier. Special features of this Maison de Champagne: most of the grapes used for the assembly are from its own vineyards and it has two plots of pre-phylloxera vines. They also make their own barrels!
