Domaine Cascina Corte

La Cascina Corte stretches over nearly 7 hectares in the hills of San Luigi in Langhe, Italy. Alessandro Barosi and Amalia Battaglia acquired this vineyard in 2001 out of a passion for viticulture. The old house on the estate, dating from the 18th century, they undertake, in parallel, working the land on abandoned vineyards that the former owner rented from a sharecropper for major renovations in the old winemaker's house. The terroir is made up of compact tuff, Nebbiolo limestone and Barbera. Current production is fully certified organic. The wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks and then according to the cuvées aged 18 months in barrels, demi-muids and casks. The different cuvées are then bottled with a minimum of suffering if necessary for good conservation of the wines for aging.
