The opinon of VIGNAPART : "The Revival whiskey from the Glenglassaugh distillery opens with notes of caramel and toffee on the nose, evolving towards touches of cherries coated with milk chocolate. On the palate, its smoothness confirms these aromas. Its The finish is warm, slightly spicy and enhanced with a hint of caramel."
The Glenglassaugh distillery was founded by Colonel James Moir in 1875 on the shores of Sandend Bay in Scotland to meet the high demand for whiskey at the end of the 19th century. It was sold to Highland Distillers in the late 1890s. It experienced a succession of periods of activity and cuts in the 20th century before being put on hold in 1986. The resumption of its activity was inaugurated in 2008 with the launch of a very beautiful Single Malt benefiting from a finish in Oloroso sherry cask : Glenglassaugh Revival.
Glenglassaugh benefits from a unique environment between Speysides and Highlands which gives its single malts very particular influences : the Speysides bring a tropical sweetness, the Highlands add depth and richness, the proximity to the sea offers a saline character.
