The opinion of Vignapart : " The vintage Malbec XL presents a flattering nose with a complex bouquet of aromas marked by notes spiced and smoked. In mouth, the attack is supple and silky, tannins are fine and pleasant. The wine evolves then on aromas of black fruits, spices, tobacco and cocoa. A great success."
Malbec XL is a vintage 100 % Malbec which holds its name of its tannins XL. After the harvest, grapes are manually sorted out and converted into wine in thermoregulated stainless tanks. The ageing of 24 months in new french oak barrels gives tannins of the malbec. Behind first woody and spicy notes, this wine reveals aromas of ripe fruits, even crystallized.

€14.50Château Lacapelle Cabanac is located in the Lot valley on a clayey-limestone terroir rocked by the Autan winds, in the Cahors appellation. After two centuries of inactivity, the château returned to its wine-growing vocation in 1978 when the owner installed wine-making tanks. Thierry Simon and Philippe Vérax have been running the estate since 2001. They immediately undertook renovation work on the winery and began a conversion to Organic Agriculture (AB), a certification obtained in 2005. They have even gone even further by practising biodynamics, which allows them to divide by four the doses of the product (sulphur and copper). Today the vine has reached maturity and the yields, naturally low, are a guarantee of quality.
The 19 hectares of vines are cultivated with two grape varieties: Malbec, typical of the region, and Merlot. Their wines are now recognized by consumers and professionals. Château Lacapelle Cabanac is an example in the Cahors region.
