Château d'Arcole, run by Véronique Barthe and Philippe Gardère, winegrowers for more than 20 years in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, is located in Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens on the prestigious Saint-Emilion terroir. The Castle owes its name to the Battle of the Pont d'Arcole, which opposed Napoleon's army to that of Austria in northern Italy in 1796.
The vineyard bears the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation and extends over 5 hectares planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is in one piece around the castle on a unique virgin soil that has always been cultivated in Organic Agriculture.
