Description

Charles Tanqueray originally sold his gin on Vine Street in London in the 1830s. After the start of the war and the bombings, his son inherited the distillery and decided to take shelter in Scotland to survive. It was then the beginning of what would become the Tanqueray Empire. Their first gin, Tanqueray London Dry Gin, is made from plants and roots including juniper, coriander, angelica roots and licorice. He was very successful in the United States and in the British colonies. Today the success of gin is international, but the brand has managed to keep the same original recipes and distillation processes. In 2016, Tanqueray became the world's best-selling gin for the first time with almost 3.9 million liters sold. It was named the hottest and best-selling gin, and voted bartenders' favorite spirit.
