Description

After travelling six months through India, discovering a new country, a new civilization and new flavours, Pierre, the third generation at the head of Domaine du Coquerel, returned to France with this incredible experience firmly anchored in me. He then went to work in France and in the USA where he had the opportunity to taste many spirits. It was the complexity and aromatic diversity of Gin that he immediately liked. In 2015, he joined the family distillery where they have been producing Calvados since 1937 and that's when he started thinking about the development of Normindia. In a book dating from 1765 and entitled "La Chymie du Gout et de l'Odorat" (The Chymistry of Taste and Smell) approved by Louis XV, he found a recipe for Genièvre distillate. From then on, he went in search of the first botanical ingredients and began the first macerations and micro-distillations in the laboratory with a team of flavourists, oenologists and distillers.
