The Castle of Chaintres knows the culture of the vine since the 17th century when the Oratorian Fathers of Saumur settled there. The wine of the estate, considered at that time as one of the best in the country, was used at that time as a reference for setting annual prices. The estate has been in the hands of the Tigny family since 1935.
The vineyards of the Château de Chaintres extend over twenty hectares, including the famous Clos du Château of an exceptional size and unique on the appellation. The winery has been certified as organic since 2013 and biodynamics. The grapes are harvested by terroir in openwork boxes. The vinifications are precise with the objective of revealing the authenticity of the terroir in their wines.
