Suite au déclin de la sériculture, l’histoire viticole du domaine commença en 1930. En effet, à partir du 16ème siècle le domaine était une magnanerie, on y tissait de la soie. Au 18ème siècle, cette activité occupait 15 000 personnes à Avignon, la France étant le premier producteur de soie au monde durant cette période.
En 1994, Jean-Claude et Raphaël Garcin acquièrent le domaine dont la réputation est déjà considérable en France ou à l’étranger.Puis, à force de travail, de persévérance et de savoir-faire, les domaines Saint-Anthelme, Les Ramières et Longval se sont adjoint au Domaine La Genestière.
En 2015, le Domaine est racheté par Christian Latouche qui a pour but de faire rayonner le patrimoine du Château Le Genestière. Le Domaine est composé de 3 terroirs d’exceptions, le terroir de lauzes, le terroir de sable et de cailloutis et le terroir de galets. Ces trois terroirs forment la partition aromatique de ce cru exceptionnel.
