The Château Sainte-Luce Bellevue is situated on the appellation of Blaye - Côtes de Bordeaux on the heights of Blaye next to the Gironde River. Acquired by Bruno Martin in 2002, the vineyard is situated on a beautiful argilo-calcareous soil and extends over 10 hectares: 8,5 hectares are dedicated to the red wine (75 % Merlot and 15 % Cabernet sauvignon) and 1,4 hectares to the white wine (sauvignon 80 % and 20 % muscadelle).
Bruno Martin immediately set up a very important manual labor (total thinning with thinning-out of leaves and manual grape harvests with sorting) in order to produce great wines with a big aromatic complexity deserving of the most beautiful terroirs of Bordeaux.
The biodynamie is put into practice since 2008. The direct influence of the river with its regulating effect brings a mitigation of heat and cold for a better photosynthesis. Certified biological and biodynamic wines (Demeter) produced in the Château Saint Luce Bellevue are structured and powerful thanks to very fruity and sweet grapes. The aromas are strong, with fruit and spices. The wine has a long length and a very big potential of ageing.
