Description

The winery Michel Magnien is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, village appellation of Côte de Nuits, Côte-d'Or (AOC). Born in 1946, Michel Magnien who represents the 4th generation of winemakers, took over the vineyard and made numerous acquisition of parcels of vines between 1967 and 2008. Today, the winery has 19 hectares of vineyards spread over the following designations: Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche, Marsannay and Côtes de Nuits.
Encouraged by his son Frédéric Magnien who joined the field in 1993, the entire harvest is bottled at the property and initiates the biological conversion in the 2000s gaining the Ecocert certification for the 2012 vintage.
The transition to certified organic agriculture, with biodynamics practices, shows the close attention that  the Magnien give to the development of their wines over the years. The motto of Frédéric Magnien: "The wines of great terroirs should be Organics! "
