- Alsace - Sweet - 50cl

- Appearance : gold yellow
- Nose : honey, crystallized quince, note of undergrowth
- Palate : soft attack and balanced, note of apricot and raisin, long lenght
The vintage Pinot Gris "Selection of Grains Noble 2009", yellow gilded, mixes the honey and the quince candies in a touch of undergrowth. In mouth, the apricot and the raisin come on stage. The attack is soft, it is rich and warm, but it remains well-balanced. This nice syrupy white wine can accompany a tart in apricots from today or be forgotten in a cellar during long years.
The vineyard is located on the gentle slopes on the famous Bollenberg mountain, known since the 6th century. Its soil is clay-limestone exclusively, and enjoys a unique micro climate where vines rub Mediterranean flora.
Vinyard: the vines respect the Alsatian tradition trellis systems with high vines conduct. Size of the vine is made with a double Guyot pruning. The vineyard is in organic farming since 2007 (Ecocert control). The harvesting is manual.
Winemaking: pre-fermentation cold maceration for 3 days, alcoholic fermentation and maceration for average one month, daily punching. The wine is then aged on fine lees until March where it will be filtered through a filter earth. Bottling is current spring or summer.

The Domaine Joseph Gsell is located at Orschwihr village, known for its old wine tradition which dates back from the VIII century when the Abbey Murbach built its vineyard. Domain Joseph Gsell occupies spacious buildings around a courtyard, with the old cellar under the house which dates back from 1691. This property was acquired by the family Gsell in 1821. Their home has always welcomed winemakers since 1693. The vineyard is now conducted by Nathalie and Julien Gsell.
This family vineyard of ten acres is conducted in organic farming since 2007. Vineyards are located on the wellknown Bollenberg limestone hill where we find a Mediterranean flora, and also on the Pfingstberg and Spiegel hills which are both classified Grand Cru. Domain Gsell mixes traditions, evolutionary methods, respect for the environment, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, to give a healthy fruity wines, ready to be enjoyed or capable to age a few years. The favorable climate, good soil, adequate variety, and all the labor contribute to the quality of the wines.
