- Ireland - Single Malt Whisky - 70cl
- Appearance : Golden yellow.
- Nose : Elegant and fragrant, aromas of malt and liquorice, slight notes of peat, smoke. By small touches you can feel the honey and oak.
- Palate : Smooth and balanced, round and silky, it confirms the aromas of the nose. As soon as it is put in the mouth, a slow explosion of peat that lasts long enough.
The opinion of Vignapart : " Launched in 1995 by the Cooley distillery, this single malt is the first and only peated whisky made in Ireland: it is the most awarded Irish whisky. Of its particular character, rather sweet and fruity, it is very surprising. Its peaty touch reminds us of Scottish whiskies, but blindly it does not evoke the Irish style, we would feel transported to the neighbouring islands of Scotland... With its golden colour, the nose and mouth meet on aromas of peat smoke with notes of sweet fruit and vanilla to finish on a rather long finish on a peat fire that gradually fades away: a very pleasant and original whisky!"
It was in 1987 that a rich Irish man, John Teeling, built a new distillery: Located in Ireland, on the Cooley Peninsula in Louth County, Colley is a distillery that mainly practices double distillation, which is unusual in Ireland. Since the end of December 2011, the distillery has been acquired by the American group Beam. Today, the brand mainly produces Kilbeggan, Connemara, Greenmore, Lockes and Tyrconnel.
