  • Scotland - Single Malt Whisky - 70cl
  • Appearance : intense gold with amber reflections.
  • Nose : Expressive and powerful with aromas of honey and ginger, sweet spices (cinnamon).
  • Palate : Intense woody attack. The influence of sherry gives it roundness and generosity, along with praline and candied fruit notes.

The opinion of Vignapart :  "This 21-year-old Knockando is part of the selection of the best single malt from Knockando. Indeed, this single malt offers a very good aromatic power: the woody notes are present from the start to finish with a pleasant long finish of sweet spices (cinnamon).Very fresh, this 21 year old Knockando is a gourmet whiskey pleasant to taste and one of the best value for money in its category. "

Description

Built by John Thompson in 1898, Knockando is located near the Spey River in the eponymous village. This distillery, whose name is derived from the Gaelic "Cnoc-an-dhu" meaning "small black hill", was founded by the famous architect and engineer, Charles Doig. This region of Scotland is famous for the delicacy of its malt whiskies. It is traditional in Knockando to bottle only whisky from a single year of distillation, or "season". Indeed, this goes back to the time when distillation was a seasonal activity, which only took place during the autumn and winter months. Today, Knockando whiskies are distilled all year round, but continue to be bottled "one season at a time", and each bottle proudly displays its year of distillation. Knockando's unique character allows the distillery to be part of the Classic Malts Selection. Created more than 20 years ago, the latter combines Single Malts, produced from the know-how of emblematic distilleries, to offer you most of Scotland's great terroirs.
