  • Scotland- Single Malt Whisky - 70cl
  • Appearance : Bright golden yellow with green highlights.
  • Nose : Balanced and powerful, it evolves on notes of confiscated fruit and sea air.
  • Palate : Firm and lively, spicy and then peaty attack to finish with much sweeter, floral and mineral notes.

The opinion of VIGNAPART :  "Considered one of the 5 greatest malts in the world, this 10-year-old Ardbeg seduces both men and women. Of these many awards, this whisky is considered to be one of the most peaty, smoky and complex in the world. Golden in colour with green highlights, a powerful and balanced nose, a smoky and oily mouth and a smoky and creamy finish reveal a rich and powerful whisky. A must, not to be missed for peat lovers! Description

Ardbeg is located in a small cove off the south coast of Islay. It was once a place of illegal distillation, when smugglers took advantage of the remote location and exceptional conditions to produce whisky. Finally, the excise men seized the smugglers' buildings and destroyed them.

It was not until 1815, the year whisky was legalized in Scotland, that the Ardbeg distillery was created, thanks in particular to John McDougal. What is rare in Scotland is that Ardbeg has always owned its own distillery, which also had a unique feature: malt drying towers that were not equipped with fans. Also, when roasting barley, the smoky aromas of the peat were more concentrated.  This is why this distillery has always produced a very peated and smoky whisky with a predominant marine character in most of its bottles. The single malt Ardbeg is highly sought after by amateurs. Moreover, Ardbeg was for a long time the most peaty of Islay's malts. As production is half that of its neighbours, some bottles are difficult to find.

Today it is one of three distilleries operating on the Islay coast, on the west coast of Scotland.
