The opinion of Vignapart : "The wines of Château Trapaud are precise, complex and they have a good capacity in the ageing. The vintage 2012 presents a beautiful liveliness and a beautiful balance between the fruit and the tannins. It is necessary to leave it some time so that its tannins become refined. 16/20"

Wine making : this wine is converted into wine in the tradition of Bordeaux with the modern techniques: tank thermoregulated, tangential filtration, maceration 28 days, ageing in barrels of French oak (71 %) and tank (29 %). Bottling between May 26th and 28th, 2014.

Description

The Château Trapaud traces its origins back to the 16th century when the Trapaud family owned it. In 1927 Georges Larribiere acquired the property and since 1997 it is Beatrice Larribiere, the fourth generation, who leads the winery. Initiated by her grandfather Gaston on clean and respectful work of men and environment, she began in 2009 the vineyard’s conversion to organic agriculture.

This vineyard of 15 continuous hectares has two complementary types of soil: clay loam for the more concentrated wines and sandy-clay for wines with a more intense color. There are the three typical grape varieties of the region: Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Each grape variety is vinified separately. The blending is advised by the oenologist Stéphane Toutoundji and may vary from year to year reminding one of the mottos of the vineyard "A fragrance is born from a mixture of different aromas; a dish is born from a mixture of several ingredients that combine flavors and colors ".

The wines of Château Trapaud are accurate and structured. Multiple awards each year reflect the good work done at the vineyard and at the winery.
